KFC has started to address its role in destroying the Indonesian rainforest. Now we need to see firm commitments from KFC and its parent company Yum! to prove that they are serious about ditching deforestation.
Earlier this year, Greenpeace report How KFC is Junking the Jungle proved that KFC’s throw away packaging includes material from the forest that is home to the world’s last 400 Sumatran tigers.
This is in stark contrast to a long list of global brands such as Unilever, McDonald's, Nestlé and, most recently, Disney, that have developed comprehensive policies to tackle deforestation. We will keep the pressure up until KFC does the same.
